Dukes Defeat Xavier, 6-5

The baseball team defeated visiting Xavier, 6-5 on Saturday to take the series from the Musketeers and further secure their foothold on second place in the Atlantic 10 West Division.
With Duquesne trailing 4-2 in the fourth inning, senior John Rieg blasted a two-run homer to cap off a four-run inning and give the Dukes a lead they would not relinquish. Freshman Scott Chisholm pitched the final five innings of scoreless baseball to improve to 2-0 on the season.
The Red and Blue (23-23, 14-7 A-10) return to action on Tuesday as they host Pitt at PNC Park at 1:00 pm.
