Senior Tom Slosky wrapped up his illustrious track and field career Wednesday evening with a 15th-place showing in the 3,000-meter steeplechase preliminaries at the NCAA Division I 2008 Outdoor Track & Field Championship in Des Moines, Iowa.

Slosky finished eighth in his heat with a time of 8:57.48 and was just one slot away from qualifying for his second straight NCAA finals. The top five runners from each of the two heats advanced to the finals as did the runners with the next four best times.

A three-time NCAA qualifier, Slosky is the school record holder in the event, turning in an 8:43.39 at last year's NCAA Championship.
